Transcripted Summary

In this chapter, we will be going over things that constitute a good leader.

Remember, there is no right or wrong if one leader has certain qualities and other leaders have different qualities.

What matters the most is the style of leadership and the mindset.

Adding on from the transferable skills from Chapter 1, these are some qualities that I can think about, and I'm sure there are many more, but remember, you do not have to be a manager to be a leader.

The qualities are:

  • communication
  • active listening
  • resilience
  • goal setting
  • diplomacy
  • decisiveness
  • conflict resolution
  • motivation
  • trustworthiness

But what really constitutes a good leader would be the following:

  1. Servanthood
  2. Communication
  3. Discipline
  4. Gratitude
  5. Charisma
  6. Coaching
  7. Respect
  8. Transferable skills

In the next eight chapters, we will visit each of these qualities with example scenarios and understand the impact of them, as well.

Because I like quotes, I would like to read this one out to you as well:

"Leadership Traits:

L for loyalty

E for empathy

A for accountability

D for duty and determination

E for energy and encouragement

R for respect

S for selflessness

H for honorable and humble

I for integrity and innovation

E for passion for and pride in work.

Be a Leader."
